About me

I am French although I spent my entire adult life in the UK and in Luxembourg where I still live. I am forever in awe of the beautiful scenery this tiny country has to offer, from fairy-tale castles overlooking green valleys, to deep enchanting forests with extraordinary rock formations, through rivers and vineyards…

I come from a long line of curious and inventive people. As a child my parents worried as they often caught me daydreaming, fascinated as I was by stories and books, especially the ones involving costumes, hats and veils.

When I was 8, my Grand Father surprised me with a child size Singer sewing machine for my birthday. It was operated by 6 big batteries and made a sound inversely proportional to its size.

Short of available fabric, I started sewing with crepe paper and my first piece was a yellow and red paper bikini.

I still love to make out-of-the-ordinary costumes whenever I get the chance, and I feel best when I can write, draw, paint, print, pleat, knit, smudge, stick, ink…. I also have a thing for cigar boxes, did you know there are no boxes the same as they are made up to the size of the cigars they will contain? I cannot help entering cigar shops as they often throw away their spare boxes…

I have published my comics in the anthology “My Life in Objects”, I am on a mentoring program with the great picture book author-illustrator Emily Haworth-Booth in writing and illustrating books for small and big people, I am also thinking of a graphic novel.
